We are delighted to welcome once again Marc Destrubé as he performs the final St. Anselm’s program of the complete cycle of J.S. Bach‘s six Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin. These complex and challenging works, composed in 1720, have become monuments of the solo violin repertoire and a source of study and fascination for violinists through history. The program will include the profound third sonata in C Major (BWV 1005), and the sunny third partita, in E Major (BWV 1006).

“On one stave for one small instrument, Bach writes a whole world of the deepest thoughts and the most powerful feelings.”
— Johannes Brahms
